Her tenure working at The Washington Post was spent covering numerous Olympics, Grand Slam Tennis as well as basketball and football. Nichols was awarded two Emmy Awards during her nine-year period working for ESPN as well as being featured on the most watched programs like NFL Countdown or SportsCenter, changed to ESPN following the year 2004.
