Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah is an Indian actress, singer in playback and a performer who appears predominantly in Tamil as well as Malayalam film productions in the language. Annayum's Rasoolum, her Malayalam and Tamil debut. She debuted in Tamil along with Pachaikili Muthucharam. Andrea Jeremiah grew up in an Anglo-Indian house in Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Andrea's father was a Madras High Court lawyer. She has a younger sister that lives in Leuven Belgium as a research assistant. Jeremiah was born in Chennai and went to National Public School and graduated from Women's Christian College. Andrea began studying classical piano at the age of eight. She was an avid enthusiast who aspired to become a psychiatrist. Young Stars, a Jackson Five-style ensemble she joined around 10 years old, formed her base for singing and music. At her college days, she also was an artist in the theater and participated in various stage plays arranged by The Madras Players. Andrea was head of Women's Christian College's Student Senate. Andrea began her professional career as a theatre actress by appearing in Girish Karanad's Nagamandala. She was featured in the 2006 leo commercial for coffee with Shiva. Also, she was in a series that was broadcast on Podhigai. She has performed all over India. There was a brief appearance for the Kanda Mudhal finale (2005). Gautham Menon enlisted Andrea to perform the role of a leading character after she sang in Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. Andrea plays Kalyani which is a wife and mother whose man loves her. Andrea was chosen to play Kalyani when Simran Shobana Tabu and other actresses were offered the chance to audition. The film was released in the early part of 2010. In 2011 she agreed to play a minor supporting role in Venkat Prabhu's film with a number of stars Mankatha and was released on August 11, 2011. She made her Malayalam film debut in the Annayum film of Rajeeev Ratti by Rasoolum in 2013.
